A Night to Remember

Last Wednesday night was definitely something to remember. Before the event even started, I had been surprised by the amount of audience in the auditorium.
To be honest, I was expecting a very serious and solemn performance. However, Master Hayashiya Niraku was way more outgoing than I thought. Although sometimes I got very confused since he was mostly talking in Japanese, the subtitles on the screen was very helpful. I realized that the communication between the audience and the performer is also an integral part of the art form.
I was impressed by how Mr. Niraku was able to transform an abstract concept into a concrete image. I also loved how he delicately matched pre-cut images with music to tell matching stories.
After the event, I bought a T-shirt with Mr. Niraku's signature on it. Now I'm hesitating whether I should ever throw that T-shirt into the washer :)
