Kamikiri
Kamikiri is essentially "paper cutting". It is a traditional performing art in Japan that dates back to around the Edo period. Not only the final product, but also the entire process of Kamikiri is displayed in front of the audience. Kamikiri acts are not rehearsed beforehands. The artist takes a request from the audience and has to cut the image on a piece of paper without guidelines. Therefore, there is no room for error. What I'm wondering is: if the artist does make a mistake in the process, what's gonna happen to the show?
